What a disappointment. First, the book has very large type and spacing, so it is really far shorter than the page length advertised (85). The content is obviously gleaned from the Internet. There is nothing that you or I could not find in a short search. There was nothing directly from Cuban. The writing is very disorganized, jumping back and forth in the timeline of Cuban's life, making it difficult to follow. There is simply no coherent flow to the book. Even if there was a coherent flow, it would be overpowered by the glaring grammar and spelling errors. There were so many that I soon lost count. But on every page - I mean, c'mon, really? The book is obviously self-published by a vanity press. EntrepreneurshipFacts.com, the publisher, was created by author David Dagen and presumably, he is the sole operator in the venture. NOT RECOMMENDED - oh, and I returned the book for a refund. Sadly, I am out my time and energy that I spent on this so-called "biography."

I first came to this book to use for a speech I had to make about Mark Cuban. I thought that purchasing this book would give me much more insight into his life than what you could find on Wikipedia or Biography.com. That simply was not the case. I got duplicated information that I could easily find on the internet without having to pay $15 for. If just the information was the issue I would've given it a 2 star, but there was a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes. If I am spending $15 on a book, then this lack of professionalism is simply unacceptable. I don't recommend this book to anyone looking for deep insight on Mark Cuban.

This book has general stuff of Mark Cuban. I think all the story of Mar Cuban on this book I could find it on google. Does not worth to buy it.

A disappointment. It read like a cover promo for what should be a more in-depth discussion. Not to take away from other books that have been written, but could have capitalized on one or more stories, actual examples from situation he encountered. Perhaps a real interview rather than just quotes on the back end. Yes, a brief history of his exploits but little depth.

I bought it for my sonHe loved it He is a big fan of Mark Cuban

It read like a long wiki page with misspellings. I was expecting to learn much more than what is almost common knowledge about him. Probably my fault since I didn't research more about the book.

This "book" must have been written in another language and then translated. Poorly. And it must have been written in that other language by an 8th grader. Horrible, a waste of money.

Not worth it for the price! Such thin book with huge texts. Better off getting it as a free E-book.

It is perhaps surprising that Russell wrote this book. She did not like to watch rushes [the raw film footage for a movie] or her own movies, or read articles or reviews about her performances. She was embarrassed by the lengthy list of her awards her husband compiled for the press. In one brief paragraph, she does mention a few of her awards, but then comments, “That’s it. . . . I can’t stand books where actors quote all their good reviews and catalogue their honors.” In fact, she did not want to write a book at all, noting that she did not come from a famous family, had been married for 35 years to the same man, and had led what she considered an uninteresting life. She feared that her story might bore people, but thought, on the other hand, that her experiences made her especially qualified to write an account of Hollywood’s Golden Age. And, once committed to writing this book, she gave it her full attention. She worked diligently on it almost up to the time of her death.Russell does not fit the stereotypical image of a Hollywood actress. As an acquaintance once said, Russell was “in Hollywood, but she’s not part of it.” Russell wrote that she was “afraid of being too caught up in the total Hollywood scene.” She was not close to the female super stars. She found love scenes uncomfortable, and sometimes unintentionally humorous. (“How can you enjoy making love when you’re being watched by two hundred men in their overalls?”) She was not a “sex symbol,” and was happier as a comedy or character actress. She was glad to be part of the “second echelon,” and “wasn’t prepared to give up free time in order to cultivate important producers.” She turned down a $7,500-a-week contract with MGM so she would have time to raise a family.A highly readable book, “Life Is A Banquet” (the title was derived from one of her lines in “Auntie Mame”) describes Russell’s childhood, and her earliest acting experience at Marymount College. Considering the screen less important than Broadway, she was reluctant to move to Hollywood. But, once there, she wanted to follow other great actresses to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. In her first movies, she was cast as a sophisticated Park Avenue lady. The switch to comedy greatly enhanced her reputation. Russell gives extensive attention to her lengthy relationship with Frederick “Freddie” Brisson, whom she married in 1941. She describes her activities during World War II, her return to the Broadway stage in the 1950s, her later films, and the mid-1970s, when “for no particular reason that I could fathom, I became all the rage again.”Naturally, “Life Is A Banquet” cannot not give full details of Russell’s entire life. But it does offer new information on some of her most important film and stage appearances: “The Women” (1939), “His Girl Friday” (1940), “Wonderful Town” (1953-54), and “Auntie Mame” (stage 1956-58; film 1958). The book provides some interesting sidelights on Russell’s interactions with such famous persons as Winston Churchill, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Eddie Rickenbacker, and Gabrielle Chanel. Russell mentions many Hollywood personalities, but only a few (Cary Grant, who introduced her to “Freddie” and served as best man at their wedding; and Frank Sinatra, who serenaded Rosalind and “Freddie” at the Catalina Casino when they were courting, and remained a life-long friend) get more than limited attention.Interspersed through the book are various humorous anecdotes, as well as Russell’s observations on good (and bad) casting, acting and directing, and censorship. She reminds actors that their reputations are largely dependent on the work of others, and advises them to expect failures as well as successes, and not to get depressed by bad reviews or elated by good ones. And, when their careers wind down, they should not feel that Hollywood owes them anything. As for herself, Russell concludes, “Mine has been a life with a lot of luck in it. I’ve had a good ride.”The book includes a helpful preface by “Freddie” Brisson; two 16-page sections of black and white photographs of Russell, members of her family, scenes from Russell’s films, plays, and special occasions; and a list of 51 Russell films. The twelve-page index, focused on names of persons, productions, and specific organizations, is useful, but the absence of subheadings is occasionally a problem, as in the case of Freddie Brisson, for whom there are 72 separate page citations.

What a fine and funny woman Russell was. The book is not overly detailed on each film or interaction with costars, which is why it merits maybe one star short of 5. There are however a number of humorous and heartfelt stories of a solid, no nonsense actress who played second banana a lot but kept her standards on the stage and screen and in her personal life. If you'd like to feel like some Hollywood celebrity really was not a scandal ridden slob hiding under a facade, this book will give you some solace that good girls and guys used to hide in plain sight.

My wife read this book and nearly read it to me, reciting events and excerpts at meals and while we were driving. Some of the stuff is so funny that I cracked up more than once, happily not the truck, just me laughing. Anyone who likes celebrity bios should like this book. Anyone who likes down-to-earth, optimistic bios should put this one at the top of their list!It was a joy, cover to cover.

It's a shame that Russell never got to finish her autobiography, but she shines through with humility and humor in this book. What a break from the usual Hollywood star 'look at me how wonderful I am' and look what I had to go through to get there' autobiographies.

A very enjoyable memoir written by someone familiar with the real golden age of Hollywood. The writing is conversational and breezy with little gossipy/salaciousness to it at all. Ms. Russell comes across as a class act, gone too soon.

We liked this book so much we bought a second copy to give to a friend who is a Rosalind Russell fan. That's about as high a recommendation as you can get.If you're a Roz fan, you'll love this book as much as we did!

Perfect autobiography for fans.Honest. Funny. Interesting. When you read it, it just evokes authenticity and this sort of worn wonder. In this book, you can feel the true essence of Rosalind Russell's character. There are fun and insightful glimpses into the behind-the-scenes action from some of her greatest works, and tales of her life outside the silver screen. An engaging read that captures a life fulfilled in every way, from the ups to the downs and back.

One of the lovliest ladies in Hollywood. She's positive, upbeat and funny.
